The Clash of the Titans is a 2010 remake of the 1981 cheese filled classic by the same name. Both films have a vaguely similar plot, and both have characters under the same name, and both have a flying horse named Pegasus. But really, that’s where the similarities change, which is something I admire it for, whether it be better or worse, atleast it wasn’t step by step. The film is flawed, but I’d be a fool not to say the same for the original. So really perhaps it’s not the film itself I really don’t like considering it’s not that different from most action flock flims of it’s nature, but perhaps it’s my nostalgia for the original from which I grew up watching, whether it be to see the amazing Ray Harryhasen special effects, or to be amused by the cheesy lines and the obvious R2-D2 rip off that was our flying owl friend Bubo, of which I was very fond of, this was a film that it found itself in my VHS player quite a bit growing up. And, just because this probably was a reason, this was one of the few video tapes with nudity I was allowed to watch. :p So perhaps my disdain isn’t entirely because of the film, but instead the fact that I felt this movie to be invading on big part of my childhood, and instead of being the great blockbuster it could never be, it fell to being plain and mediocre, something the old one, in all it’s flaws, never was.

Clash of the Titans 2010 plot [Taken from IMDb]
Perseus is the favored son of the god Zeus, but he has unwittingly ticked off the sea goddess Thetis. Just to make things worse, Perseus falls in love with the lovely Princess Andromeda, who used to be engaged to Thetis’s son. Soon Perseus is off on one quest after another, with Zeus helping, Thetis hindering, and lots of innocent bystanders getting stabbed, drowned, and squished.
